Wedding Photojournalism - Wedding Photography
photojournalism - “...takes its cue from editorial reporting styles and focuses more on candid and unposed images with little photographer interaction.. ...is by its nature similar to journalism, where the emphasis is upon reporting and recording events in a
newsworthy manner, whereas contemporary may include an element of photo-
journalism but is not exclusively that style of photography..” - Wikipedia

Wedding Photojournalism
Photojournalism as it applies to your wedding is all about capturing moments as they happen, anticipating events and including, in some cases, foreground or background supporting subjects to the main. Our purpose is to create or capture each image of your event with a mood or evoke an emotion. We may also achieve this with a collection of photos as they relate to a singular event. Specular lighting, simple but relating backgrounds, use of color vs. black ‘n white are all used to enhance those compelling images. Our goal is to capture your wedding day in a time-line of moments and moods, candidly without need for ‘posing’. These are represented by smiles and
hugs, by laughter and tears, all of individual lives brought to a single day and now the recording of that day.
Photojournalism Wedding Photos
A bridesmaid reflecting on past moments while she looks in the direction of her image in the brides-room mirror. The bride and her mother enjoying a moment of the day..... brought to this by some moment from the past. The groom sneaking a peak at his watch. Bridesmaids crowding to a space between window curtains to view arriving guests. An image of the flower girl as she watches the first dance or the picture of a young boy hypnotized by the cutting of the wedding cake. It is the task of the photographer to anticipate or recognize these opportunities as they happen.
Wedding Images
The single-most important test of our images is to be able to re-capture those moments and moods years later without obvious ‘posed’ distractions.
Wedding Album
Photojournalism doesn’t end with the capturing of images. Our photography team is supported by a refreshing album design firm that further combines and relates your image choices into album page collages. This also is where we will see the use of dynamic graphics, special effects and the introduction of black ‘n white imagery to further enhance images and promote the jounalistic approach. Our photographer’s images will go a long way in allowing design creativity for the wedding album and keep it from looking like a ‘family album’. We will attempt to include images of the bridesmaids and groomsmen that appear more random and less ‘posed’. Even though your album will have the required traditional family-group shots, we will keep the
collages from appearing ‘static’ with the use of a little planning and occasional humor.
